About Us

Making informed healthcare choices in today’s fast-paced world can be daunting.  Luckily for women in Northern Colorado, that’s where the Center for Women’s Health makes a difference. Catering specifically to women’s healthcare needs, we provide quality care in a warm, welcoming environment.  With two OB/GYN physician, three certified nurse midwives and a nurse practitioner certified in women’s health, the Center for Women’s Health is unique in our ability to provide women with an array of healthcare options specifically tailored to them as individuals.

Dr. Abbot and Dr. Plotnick are Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  The three Certified Nurse Midwives on staff, Marie Foose, Karen Vorderberg, and Krista O’Leary;  and Nurse Practitioner, Bea Bachenberg, all have advanced nursing degrees and experience providing quality healthcare services to women.  All six providers stress that the healthcare provider/patient relationship should be one that is collaborative and personal.

The practitioners at the Center offer a wide range of women’s healthcare services within the obstetrical and gynecologic realm.  Please click on the “FAQ” link for more information on services offered.

Dr Abbot has interests in minimally invasive surgery and urogynecology.  He also enjoys obstetrics and the long-term relationships he has built with his patients over the last 20 years.  He believes that every woman deserves the best medicine has to offer, and he strives to serve each patient personally with compassion and care.

Bea Bachenberg, Women’s Health Certified Nurse Practitioner, emphasizes a holistic approach of caring for her patients throughout their lives.  She incorporates a blend of traditional medicine with complementary alternative modalities, such as bio-identical hormones for perimenopausal and menopausal women.  She also offers nutritional and lifestyle guidance.

The three midwives concentrate on providing a family-centered birth experience.  They believe pregnancy is a unique event and help the patient consider all her options for labor and delivery.  Dr. Abbot, Dr. Plotnick and the midwives delivered more than 422 babies in 2011!

Patients at the Center for Women’s Health can expect longer appointment times, a willingness to discuss alternatives to traditional treatments, and a more personalized treatment plan.  We are a family oriented clinic, and we consider our patients an extended part of that family.

We also offer the service of a certified esthetician, Kecia Doll.   As an added service we are able to provide the majority of testing, lab draws, and ultrasounds conveniently within the clinic.
New patients are always welcome and appreciated!
